Stratton Motor Company are pleased to be able to offer this stunning example of this sought-after Aston Martin DB4.

In 1946 the now famous industrialist David Brown bought Aston Martin having seen an advert in ‘The Times’ newspaper.

What followed was almost a decade of ownership when his focus was on the development of racing cars and the era of the DBR series and competing with success against the big boys, Ferrari and Ford.

In 1958 his priority changed to producing road going sports cars having enlisted the help of the famous Italian car designer “Carrozzeria Touring” from Milan, and further to that, the talented Polish automobile engineer Tadek Marek who went on to design the all alloy and renowned 3.7 litre straight six twin cam engine that saw over a decade and a half of use in Aston Martin cars (DB4, DB5, DB6 and early DBS)

The first of the ‘famous three’ was the DB4, arguably the best looking of the three models, and the base model for the now infamous DB4GT and the DB4 Zagato.

The DB4 saw five series, the Series 5 Vantage emerging into what became the DB5.

This car, a Series two is distinguishable from it’s counterparts by the one piece ‘Cathedral’ rear lights.

This particular model underwent an 18 month rebuild in 1999 at a cost of £44,000.00, followed by a complete re-paint in 2014 to the famous Silver Birch colour synonymous with the James Bond DB5 car, the interior receiving new hide at the same time.

The engine was also replaced by Aston Martin Lagonda in June 1970.

The speedometer registers 2981 miles.

A true thoroughbred classic car with a great history.
