The Alfa Romeo Bertone has a beautiful appearance. However, the example shown here is no longer completely standard. The previous and only owner decided in the 1970s that he wanted to convert the car into a GTA replica. He took the car to a specialized coachbuilder and had the car professionally widened. The car was then provided with a few stripes, a few cool wheels and the look was complete. This âletter boxâ therefore looks wonderfully impressive.
The bodywork is in very good condition. The work was done very well at the time. The sheet metal is nice and thin everywhere and the fits are correct. The paint is largely original and is still neatly cared for. The car has beautiful sports rims that match the wide body and are fitted with good tires in the correct sizes. The striping on the side has been professionally applied and is also still in very good condition.
The interior of the Alfa Romeo is largely original and in wonderful condition. The carpets are still the first but the seats have been replaced by bucket seats that offer more support, in line with the changes of the exterior. The steering wheel and the poker are also completely original as well as the dashboard. The instruments and controls all function as they should and look beautiful.
The technology has been well maintained over the years. The car is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder twin cam engine. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Both the engine and the transmission function excellently and make it a real joy to drive this Alfa Romeo. The brakes and chassis are well maintained and also function as they should. Thanks to the increased track width, driving this car is an even bigger party than with a standard one.
In short, a beautiful Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV with a beautiful engine, fantastic appearance and wonderful handling. Not a car for the purist, but a car for the real Alfa enthusiast.
