After 8 years in production, the L84 327/375hp fuel injected engine made its final appearance in ’65. Only 771 units were built that year, making it one of the rarer engine options produced. At the same time, the L78 396/425hp big block engine made its debut, marking the first and only time a 396 was available in a Corvette. The ’65 model year also saw the introduction of standard 4-wheel disc brakes, making it a true milestone year for America’s Sports Car!
