The history of this car is documented to day one. The original owner, George Goss bought this car to drive and put 122,000 miles on it until selling it to corvette mike in 1987. He was a chef in Los Angeles returning from a tour in Vietnam. Living in the LA area it’s not hard to reason why he bought this vehicle. Glowing arrest me Sunfire Yellow paint with a Black Stinger hood, the most powerful engine available with air-conditioning, no annoying constant manual shifting in the gridlock of the L.A. Freeways, and all the luxury and power options: What dealers unofficially called the “Beverly Hills Package”.

This package consisted of all the high-priced creature comforts we like today, including power steering, power brakes, power windows, Powerglide automatic transmission, leather seats, Soft Ray tinted glass, Kelsey-Hayes aluminum bolt-on wheels, 3 .08: 1 highway driving axle, hardtop and especially factory air conditioning to be cool while going fast!

Many back in the day bought big block Corvettes without power robbing and heavy options just to go fast. The L88 wasn’t meant for the street with very poor low-end response, due in part to the radical camshaft. The L71 435’s were also never great street machines, being rude, loud and, unruly with hot interiors.

The rarer 400hp L68 was probably the best big block to drive daily, as the kick came in 400 rpm sooner making it definitely more useable for the street. No frequently adjusting valve lash with the hydraulic cam L68. Most of the usable horsepower above 400 went up in smoke trying to get traction with the skinny 775-15 tires!

One of the best looking and most powerful sports cars ever! Indeed, the 427ci ’67 Vette was far faster than every other production car America had to offer that year.

With over $2000 in options, this car had to be one of the most expensive 1967 Corvettes made.

Sold new out of Cormier Chevrolet in Long Beach, CA. a dealership that closed only recently. The original owner of this ’67 definitely wanted a powerful cruiser. And that’s exactly what they ordered.
