The 924 Carrera GT was available in red, silver or black, the GTS (with 245hp) was only available in red and the race cars were white. The (standard) cast-iron engine generated 210 hp at 6,000 rpm at a relatively low compression of 8.0:1. The unique parts are mainly Kolbenschmidt's lighter forged pistons, a slightly larger version of the 931 KKK turbocharger with a filling pressure of 0.75 bar and the intercooler attached on top of the block. Getrag produced the reinforced "dogleg" gearbox. The 924 Carrera GT has a slightly stiffer version of the Turbo Series II suspension and was fitted with 7x15 Fuchs rims as standard. 16-inch (7 and 8J) was optional. The 924 Carrera GT had plastic vents and special guides, which directed cool air from the front bumper to the brake discs.
The 924 Carrera GT was the second most expensive Porsche in 1981; only the 930 Turbo cost more!

The 924 Carrera GT we offered was delivered to Germany in February 1981 and later left for Belgium. After the Belgian owner sold the car to a Dutch Porsche specialist, the current owner bought the car in 2010 and put the car on NL registration plates immediately after purchase at the end of 2010. He used the car mainly for touring and unfortunately broke down the engine in January 2013 due to detonation. A common problem with Carrera GTs. In addition, a previous engine repair had not been carried out very carefully. After a long search, the owner managed to secure a new set of oversize pistons, the engine was reassembled and fitted with an electronic ignition. Due to various circumstances, the car was not ready until the beginning of this year, was MOT approved and the first few kilometres have already been done. Partly due to the long idle time, the CGT has low mileage, which, given the condition of the interior and exterior (only the roof and bonnet, as far as measurable, have ever been painted) and the attached history, seems to be correct.
