There are many cars advertised as a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, but locating a documented factory Z/28 is rare. This car is the real deal. The RPO Z28 was based on a 302.5 cubic inch version of the Chevy small block, essentially a 4" bore 327 block with a 3" stroke crankshaft out of the earlier 283 small block. It was fitted with free-breathing cylinder heads, an aluminum intake manifold breathing through a huge 750 cfm Holley four-barrel carb. Chevy called it 290 horsepower, which was ridiculously pessimistic. In 1969 factory-delivered Z/28s were arriving at dealers' showrooms with 350 or more horsepower coming out of their highly-developed, high rpm 302 V8s. RPO Z28 also included quick ratio steering and a performance suspension and required other performance options like power disc brakes. A correct set of 15-inch rally wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires complete the package in this Z28. In addition to the cowl induction hood, this Camaro is equipped with a rear spoiler, chin spoiler, factory tachometer, factory console with auxiliary gauge package, factory AM/FM radio, 12-bolt 4:10 posi rear end and stock exhaust manifolds exiting through a correct-style exhaust system. Authenticating this car is a certificate from noted Camaro expert, concours judge and author of two books on Camaro restoration, Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance, who carefully inspected the car and subsequently documented and certified it as a real Fathom Green Z/28. Furthermore, we were able to verify the date code of the existing block as being built May 1, 1969 (picture #100) and the Muncie 4 speed as having a matching VIN (picture #102), thus showing it to be original to the car. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a beautifully restored, correct, well equipped, documented car worthy of consideration for the collector that appreciates quality and authenticity. Call today!
