In 1963 the first major restyling came and the Sting Ray was born. The car also had the typical optical 'fracture line' across the entire flank, and the characteristic tapered roof that was reminiscent of a shark. Furthermore, the C2 had pop-up headlights and exhausts that protruded from the rear bumper.
The C2 was extra special because it was equipped with fuel injection, which was extremely rare in the United States at the time.
