The main changes consisted of:
10 hp more power than the TR2
Larger carburetors.
Improved cylinder head.
A different grille (the TR2 only had a 'gaping hole').
Overdrive available at an additional cost.
Rear seat available at an additional cost.
From 1956: Disc brakes on the front wheels.
Triumph TR 3A
In the autumn of 1957 the 'new model' appeared, although there were no structural changes it was given a different name: TR 3a with the main changes:
Redesigned front.
Smaller headlights.
Wide grille.
Exterior door handles (previously the doors could only be opened from the inside, or from the outside through the crank-up window.)
Trunk lid handle (instead of two cheap latches).
The car was modernized in terms of finish and instruments.
1962 units of this model were produced until 58.309.
This TR3 A presented here is a body-off restored where everything is right. Under the hood you see an almost new engine that has also been completely overhauled. Furthermore, the car is equipped with a black leather interior with a white stripe. The Triumph has beautiful chrome wire wheels with Vredestein Classic tires. After restoration, the TR has only driven 5000 kilometers. A beautiful TR3 A for the lover of a real open English sports car.
