Fitted by us in 2013 with a VVC engine that has now run just 12500 km. This makes it a particularly fast and sporty Elise. The Lotus Elise is a lightweight open sports car built by Lotus. This innovative sports car was presented at the September 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show (initially under project name M1-11) and was the salvation for Lotus. The car has a bonded aluminium chassis, which is very rigid. The bodywork consists of polyester. The car's low weight (initially around 700 kg) ensures high agility and fast acceleration. Initially, the Elise was fitted with a 1.8-litre Rover K-Series petrol engine rated at 88 kW (118 hp). Later, other variants such as the Sport 135, Sport 160 and Sport 190 all came with more power through engine tuning. In 1999, the first Elise, the 111S, appeared with a Rover K-Series 1.8 Variable Valve Control (VVC) engine that produced 143 hp and had slightly different equipment including wider tyres.
