Founded in 1931, Innocenti had been producing several British Leyland models under licence since the 1950s. They were mainly intended for the Italian market. After the founder's death in 1966, British Leyland took over the company. Since then, Innocenti mainly produced the Innocenti Mini under licence. culminating in the Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300 equipped with 2 SU carburettors, front disc brakes, and the wide Innocenti rims. Inside fitted with the beautiful unique Innocenti dashboard and equipped with sports seats.
