The Duesenberg ll! This continuation was created as the ultimate modern classic with the objectives of recapturing the aesthetic elegance of the original in a car that was comfortable and practical to use. Over a span of about 35 years only 71 continuation Duesenbergs were made total, there were five models and this is #6 of just 27 speedsters. They're built Ford tough! Each one started with a brand new Ford F-150 truck chassis offering reliable and comfortable performance. Cosmetically each one was built to be virtually indistinguishable from the original. These were factory built, 5,000 hours went into each one which made the cost and wait time considerable. Many people that have owned a Duesenberg II are also collectors of the originals and say they enjoy these more, you can use them! EXTERIOR: Modeled after the 1933 SJ Speedster, one of the fastest production cars of that era. It's only fitting that it looks the part too! Its size is impressive, yet it still looks fast sitting still! The long hood has supercharger pipes flanking each side, the boattail back end and the four boattail fenders effortlessly slice through the air. It is made of a sturdy fiberglass with a steel frame. The body is in excellent shape. The paint presents beautifully, onlookers will be in awe. Although there are touch ups and blemishes from age. The black and red is a stunning combination, under the fenders are even painted red. The chrome lights, grill and medallions are authentic. The convertible top is a rich black cloth with red piping. Of all the models this one is the most all weather friendly, the top folds easily and the windows are power. In an era of spoke wheels, even the smooth hubcaps look aerodynamic. The authentic wrapped in whitewall tires are the finishing touch. INTERIOR: The red pops! It's the same red as the exterior. The seat and door panels are genuine leather. Authentic dash with machine turned panel, a full set of instrumentation including an altimeter, beveled glass lenses. Below the dash a wood panel cleverly conceals the modern amenities such as the stereo, heater controls and power windows. This one has been upgraded with an authentic style steering wheel. Down on the floor is dark red carpet and an automatic shifter that looks like the original 3-speed manual. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: 351s were used in most, this car is equipped with a big 460 motor! Again it was brand new from Ford when built and most all of the components attached to it are factory Ford components. There is only 8,500 miles on this drivetrain, it can be serviced anywhere a Ford can be serviced. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This model offers the most cargo space. The lid behind the seat opens to give access to a large carpeted trunk. You can easily fit luggage, golf clubs or a shopping spree in there. UNDERSIDE: It's Ford tough! Built on a new F150 truck chassis, can be serviced at Ford. The steering, brakes, suspension are stock. Looking up at the motor it is stock, so is the heavy duty C6 automatic and 9 inch rear. This one has a custom fuel tank, a Flowmaster muffler for a little growl and a battery cut off switch. We also had leather boots made for the front springs. It's very clean even under this car. SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell. CONCLUSION: Bottomline, this is a car for you! You don't need to be Jay Leno, you don't need to be a billionaire or 90 years old. I believe if there were a new Lamborghini, Bugatti and a Rolls Royce, this would steal the attention! This costs a fraction of what those cost! For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide is my professional opinion based on my experience with these vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase the car and share our team’s insights. **Our cars are displayed within a museum setting.
