Very cool Pininfarina Spider 2000 as Volumex version, year of construction 1985 , one of the last spiders ever made! The bodywork is beautifully painted in blue metallic which gives a stylish combination with the beige interior. The bodywork is otherwise solid and cool, the same can be said about the interior. As a nice extra option, this example came with a neat tonneau cover and chrome trunk rack. When Fiat stopped producing the highly successful 124 Sport Spider in the early 1980s, Italian design house Pininfarina decided to continue producing this model itself. Pininfarina itself was responsible for the design of this Spider which had been on the market since 1967. Never before had Pininfarina itself produced cars as a manufacturer and after this model they would not do so again. So, in the case of this example on offer, we shouldn't speak of a Fiat Spider but of the Pininfarina Spider Europe, or Azzurra for the ones destined for America. Before Pininfarina started production, many small and some larger modifications were made to bring the Spider back up to date. In 1983, Pininfarina launched as a special edition a specimen tuned by Abarth of the Spider europa Volumex with Roots compressor. With its 135 hp (99 kW) from a two-litre displacement, the Volumex was more powerful than its "eternal rival", the Alfa Romeo Spider. While the other Fiat 124 Sport Spiders reached top speeds of up to 175 km/h, the Volumex reached 190 km/h. This example comes with all Volumex features, wheels, compressor, pressure gauge, tachometer, and original Volumex engine.
