2002 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Sport

2nd owner from 2003, immaculate R129 SL with factory Sport Package, only 19k miles, just serviced.

This 2002 model year Mercedes-Benz SL500 was built in February of 2001 and sold new by Mercedes of Bakersfield, CA to its first owner who leased the car for one year. The current (2nd) owner purchased the car from Phil Smart Mercedes in March of 2003 with 8,178 miles and has kept the car in immaculate condition, garaged and only used on nice days here in the Pacific Northwest.

The current mileage is just 19,500 and the car remains in like new condition. Finished in its original paintwork of stunning Desert Silver Metallic, this SL shows no signs of rust and no major imperfections in the paint finish or bodywork. This car is powered by the iconic M113 5.0L V8 with 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission. This SL500 is a North American-spec example and features the desirable AMG Sport Package which consists of AMG Front apron with mesh air intake, Contoured rear apron, Sculpted side skirts, 245/40ZR18 front and 275/35ZR18 rear, low profile high-performance tires on 8.5Jx18" front and 9.5Jx18" rear, staggered-width AMG 5-spoke monoblock alloy wheels.

Other features include: 50 state emissions with catalyst, stability control, and remote keyless entry with alarm. The cabin is trimmed in Java Tan Nappa leather with matching carpets and beige soft top. All leather surfaces show minimal signs of use. The center console is accented with polished Burl Walnut wood as well as matching door trims. The audio system is the high-end BOSE stereo with a cassette deck up front and a 6-disk C changer in the trunk. There also is a power antenna, automatic climate control, power side mirrors, power windows, power roll bar, power seats with integrated height adjusting seatbelts, and a full power folding soft top with a removable paint-matched hardtop.

Recently in October of 2025 the car has received an oil service, new cabin filter, and a fresh detailing. In June of 2025 new Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires were fitted and a new battery was installed. In June of 2023 the rear differential was serviced and resealed. All other maintenance receipts are documented in a binder from 2003 to current. All electrical equipment is in excellent working condition, and mechanicals are in great condition with no known faults or leaks. Included with the SL are a removable wind screen (new and still in the original unopened wrapper), unused original first aid kit, unopened original tool kit, unused original spare tire, jack, 2 original remote keys, complete owner’s manuals with build sheet, radio code card, reproduction window sticker showing a MSRP of $84,495, and a hard top stand.
