The year is 1966, the Beatles are singing about their Yellow Submarine, and MG is beginning the second year of production of the MG B in the GT version. After launching the GT in 1965 at the Earls Court Motor Show, the MG factory in Abingdon, England produces as many as 125,000 GTs. It is an overnight success as the English call it. The demand for an affordable sports car with more comfort and (practical) space was well met by MG. The design of the beautiful lines was done by Pininfarina. And even after 50 years, it remains a timeless design and you want to look at it every second the moment it drives by. This example comes from Sweden where it has stayed since 1968. Because people in Sweden don't spread salt in winter and it has simply been well looked after in all that time, this is a rust-poor example. It is not an over-restored specimen but one that has simply been neatly maintained over the years. It was restored once in the 1980s, making it a nice presentable car today. As a nice extra, the MG is equipped with wire wheels, overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear, a stainless steel exhaust, and it has the improved /adapted rear shock absorbers.
