Since 2003, Ferrari has offered track-focused variants of its V8 models that embody the essence of their racing counterparts. These special series emphasize reduced weight, increased power, and enhanced rigidity, drawing from the Ferrari Challenge and FIA GT Championships. Notable examples include the 360 Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia, 458 Speciale, the model offered here, the 488 “Pista” (Italian for "Track"). The track-ready evolution of the 488 continued the practice of adapting racing innovations and aerodynamics for road use, taking inspiration from its 488 Challenge and the 488 GTE sports prototype siblings. These included a Formula One-derived S-Duct, GTE-style rear diffuser, and enlarged “dolphin-tail” rear spoiler. These features not only improved downforce by a claimed 20 percent but also contributed to the Pista's distinctive, focused stance. Underneath the lightweight Lexan rear window rested a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged V8—a configuration not seen since the legendary F40. Improvements over the standard 488 GTB, including repositioned air intakes and an enlarged intercooler, yielded a remarkable 50-PS increase (for a total output of 720 PS) and made it “the most powerful V8 engine in the Maranello marque’s history.” Inside, a sparse, carbon-fiber-laden interior lacked sound deadening, contributing to some 90 kilograms in weight savings and a visceral experience behind the wheel. This translated directly to on-track performance, with the Pista lapping Ferrari's Fiorano test track in 1:21.5—two seconds faster than the 458 Speciale. This extensively optioned 2020 Ferrari 488 Pista showcases a stealthy Nero Daytona exterior contrasted by Giallo Modena brake calipers and Scuderia Ferrari fender shields. As a European-market Pista, exposed carbon fiber elements were included practically wherever possible as part of the Personalisation Pack (PPAC), including the front air vents and aero flaps, side air intake splitters, engine compartment cover, rear diffuser, lateral spoilers, and under-door trim. Completing the Pista’s stealthy exterior appearance are 20-inch forged black-finished wheels and black ceramic coated tailpipes. The interior is equally well-appointed, trimmed in Nero Alcantara set off by Giallo contrast stitching and Cavallino emblems embroidered in Giallo on the headrests. The extensive carbon fiber treatment continues in the cabin with carbon fiber inner sill trim, upper center console trim, and most notably, carbon fiber racing seats in size large. The driver’s environment is completed by a commanding yellow tachometer, four-point black safety harnesses, and a handy fire extinguisher mounted within easy reach. Despite its track-focused character, this Pista retains welcome road-going amenities such as satellite navigation with Bluetooth connectivity and an integrated audio system. Offered in superb condition with 7,874 kilometers on the odometer at the time of consignment, this is an excellent chance for a collector to add one of Ferrari's most exhilarating modern offerings to their stable in an outstanding specification. As one of the final non-hybrid mid-engine Ferraris, the 488 Pista represents the pinnacle of Ferrari’s track-focused engineering before the marque's transition to hybrid powertrains. Prepared for immediate enjoyment, this Pista benefits from a December 2025 service by Ferrari Eberlein in Kassel, Germany. A truly investment-grade example, it presents with a fully documented, accident-free history and original paint shielded by full paint protection film.
