The 1932 Packard Deluxe Eight 903 Convertible Coupe represents the height of Depression-era luxury and craftsmanship, combining Art Deco styling with engineering excellence. This example, chassis 519-26, features the rare Convertible Coupe body, an elegant two-door design with space for two to four passengers, and has benefited from an extensive, frame-off restoration completed over nearly two decades. Finished in a stunning two-tone blue with a matching royal blue convertible top, this Packard is both a concours-quality showpiece and a CCCA-recognized Full Classic . Originally sold by J.S. Jackson & Co. of Chicago, Illinois, this Packard has a remarkably well-documented history. The second owner, Carl Johnson of San Diego, acquired the Packard in 1934 and retired it from road use in 1949 after mechanical issues arose. It remained preserved until 1984, when noted collector Kenneth Kemp purchased it 99riginal and embarked on a full, frame-off restoration that would span 18 years. The restoration was completed in Arizona with meticulous attention to originality, and the Packard subsequently won multiple awards, including Best in Show at the Tubac Car Show in 2004. The current owner, a family member of Mr. Kemp, represents only the third family to own the Packard since new, and remains in exceptional condition throughout. The exterior finish presents beautifully in light blue with royal blue pinstriping, accentuated by a Burbank royal blue convertible top that folds neatly in line with the body. Every element reflects quality craftsmanship, from the brilliant chrome radiator guard and dual trumpet horns to the gleaming Goddess of Speed mascot leading the way. The Packard rides on chrome wire wheels with matching whitewall Firestone tires and features a rear-mounted spare wheel that preserves the uninterrupted sweep of the front fenders. The paint and brightwork remain in excellent condition, offering a show-quality presentation with only three small cosmetic imperfections throughout. The interior is equally refined, trimmed in light gray leather upholstery that remains supple and clean with only the lightest creasing from use. The dashboard is fully restored and finished in burled wood with chrome-rimmed instruments, including a factory but non-functional Packard/Philco Transitron radio. The fuel gauge is currently non-functional, but all other instrumentation presents well and are in working condition. The rumble seat is designed to accommodate two passengers comfortably, with space for two full golf bags beneath, a signature feature of Packards luxury convertibles. Blue carpeting and tasteful detailing complete the period-correct atmosphere of understated opulence. Power is supplied by Packards 384.8 cubic inch L-head inline eight-cylinder engine, delivering 135 horsepower through a four-speed manual transmission. The Packard drives really well with plenty of power, smooth shifting and comfortable suspension. The 903 chassis features vacuum-assisted clutch, adjustable ride control, and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes, technological innovations that made the Deluxe Eight one of the most advanced American cars of its time. With a 142-inch wheelbase, the Packard delivers a remarkably smooth and composed ride. Recent servicing in September 2025 included a new battery, spark plugs, fuel pump, filter, and line, along with a tank cleaning, ensuring reliable operation. Included with the sale are a car cover, extensive historical and restoration documentation, Packard maintenance manuals, and a show display board. This Deluxe Eight exemplifies the craftsmanship, engineering, and design sophistication that defined Packard as Americas premier luxury marque during the early 1930s.
