Introduced initially in hardtop form in 1975, the XJS carried the torch forward as the E-Type's modernized successor; retaining its statement-making V12 while evolving over the next decade into a refined grand tourer. From 1981, the XJS was fitted with the High-Efficiency V12 that produced an improved 263 horsepower and far better fuel economy. According to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this XJS was first registered in St. Louis, Missouri in September 1988 and remained in the state for more than 30 years under a small number of attentive owners. Regular servicing is documented by the report, including a substantial refresh at European car specialists GLM Motorworks in February 2021 where the front shock absorbers and bushings were replaced, the fuel system was serviced, and the fuel injectors were replaced.
