In 1995, Jaguar introduced the XJR. This sporty version of the XJ featured larger wheels, a sport-tuned suspension and some minor visual changes. The 4.0-liter straight-six was fitted with a mechanical Eaton supercharger, increasing power to 370 hp/513 Nm. It was the first Jaguar ever to feature such a supercharger.
