Chassis No. ZFF80AMA7H0223497 In 2015, Ferrari paired its twin-turbocharged mid-engine V8 with a retractable hardtop in the 488 Spider, creating an open-air supercar that gave up little of the Berlinetta’s performance. With 661 horsepower, razor-sharp dual-clutch shifts, and only weighing 110 pounds more than the Berlinetta, the 488 Spider remains one of Maranello’s most satisfying modern, driver-focused Ferraris. Chassis number 223497 was completed in the stunning Ferrari historical hue of Verde British Racing (Green) over warm Cuoio/Nero (Natural/Black) leather, complemented by matching Verde contrast stitching. Tasteful pops of contrast were specified in the yellow brake calipers and matching yellow rev counter, while Scuderia Ferrari shields adorn the front wings. A lengthy options list includes carbon fiber trim across the dash and center bridge, the carbon-fiber steering wheel with LEDs, 20-inch forged dark painted wheels, a sport exhaust system, and large Racing Seats with Cavallino Rapante embroidery. Improving its daily usability are the suspension lifter, front and rear parking sensors, and AFS (Adaptive Frontlight System). The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report notes early registration in Washington state before relocation to New Hampshire in 2019, followed by several years of maintenance by Wide World Ferrari in Spring Valley, New York. In late 2023, this 488 Spider was stolen and placed into a shipping container. When recovered in mid-2025, the Spider emerged in notably sound condition for the circumstances. Following Hagerty's settlement with the owner and the subsequent issuance of a salvage title, the car underwent a comprehensive six-month restoration that was recently completed. To return the Ferrari to its current exceptional presentation, Fine Finishes Restoration of Westminster, Maryland, undertook a thorough, photo-documented recommissioning. Work began with diagnostics and repair of a starting issue, including replacement of the battery, along with careful cleaning and evaluation. A new windshield and seal were installed, with the associated trim renewed. The body was then carefully corrected, addressing the windshield frame and right-side cosmetic damage, while the wheels were refinished and mounted with new Michelin Pilot Sport 4s rubber. In keeping with its as-delivered specification, the brake calipers were returned to yellow with new decals. Final wet-sanding, polishing, detailing, reassembly, and road testing completed the remarkable transformation. The car then went to well known specialist shop Competizione & Sports Cars for final sorting, which included new TPMS, brake fluid, power steering fluid, plus an oil and filter change. Now offered showing 16,193 miles shown (title states TMU), this fine 488 Spider presents with a fresh lease on life and over $50,000 invested as shown in invoices on file, offering a compelling “guilt free” driver for those seeking to drive and enjoy a modern mid-engine Ferrari in a spectacular specification.
