£29,450.79 | €34,000.00 | $40,524.59

The Saab 96 was originally equipped with a 750 cc, three-cylinder, two-stroke engine producing 38 hp (28 kW) and mixed friction, like the Saab 93. In 1963, the displacement was increased to 841 cc and the power to 40 hp. A 57 hp version with three carburetors and oil lubrication was available as an option. This engine was used in the Saab Sport and Monte Carlo models. In 1967, the 96 V4 was introduced, featuring the Ford Taunus V4 engine, a 1498 cc four-stroke engine originally developed for the 1962 Ford Taunus 12M. The V4 engine produced 55 hp (48 kW), and the car accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 16 seconds. The two-stroke version remained available until 1968. In 1977, the V4 engine was fitted with a Solex double-choke carburettor, increasing power to 65 hp.

The Ford Taunus V4 engine is introduced, but the Saab two-stroke remains an alternative; front disc brakes; new air conditioning. Two-speed windshield wipers.
The standard V4 engines produced between 1967 and 1976 produced 65 hp (48 kW). Vehicles from the first production year had engines bearing the "Ford Motor Company" logo. For the 1976 Swedish model year, the power of the vehicle, now known as the 96L, was reduced to 62 hp due to new Swedish emissions regulations. However, the models from 1977 to 1980 produced 68 hp (50 kW) thanks to a two-barrel Solex 32TDID carburetor. These models were designated the "V4 Super." The V4 96 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 16 seconds. In August 1975 (referred to in Sweden as "1975B", as the less powerful engine was retained for vehicles marketed after the turn of the year when new emissions standards came into effect) the car received new shock-absorbing bumpers, similar to those of the 99, as well as a modified floor pan which allowed the rear seat to be moved 5 cm (2,0 in) further back.

This Saab presented here is from 1967, and therefore one of the first with a V4 engine. This car has been completely restored to concours quality; absolutely everything has been done to this car, making this a brand-new Saab waiting for you. The engine, drivetrain, steering, transmission, bodywork, interior, and brakes—everything has been addressed here. Come and see this beauty; it truly is a new car. For someone who seeks only the best, this is the car for you.
