- The T120 Bonneville 650 was introduced in 1959 and its namesake is still in production today
- Launched as a 650cc and subsequently increased to 750cc in 1973
- This example is one of the 204 examples modified to compete in the USA AMA 750cc Class Series on arrival in the USA in 1970
- The East Coast distributor, Tricor, came up with a 750cc conversion kit that replaced the stock 650cc barrels
- 200 bikes needed to be converted to satisfy the homologation requirements, 204 were produced
- Tricor replaced the original cylinders with the 750cc cast-iron cylinder blocks whilst the bikes were still in the crates and then added the 'T' to the engine but not the frame
- The customer was made to sign a disclaimer
- The Triumph factory eventually found out and dismissed the culprits responsible
- This example is a matching-numbers machine restored to an impressively original condition by marque specialist Terry MacDonald, who has documented records and photographs and is happy to share
- Correct rear lights, side reflectors, Lucas horns and cast-iron cylinder head with central Allen Key
- Fitted with a Wassell electronic ignition system
- Presented in running order but might need some basic safety checks before road use
