- In the late 1920s Ariel was overflowing with expertise, with the likes of Edward Turner and Bert Hopwood on their design team, however, it was Chief Designer, Val Page, who came up with the design for the OHV 500cc in 1926 and the legendary 'Black Ariels' were born
- The Model E was a 497cc, OHV single with a twin-port head and was the sporting machine in the Ariel line-up
- This bike has been well looked after by its engineer owner who has kept it in good running condition but now finds it a little heavy
- The bike benefits from recent wheel refurbishment and new lights and has a new twin-port exhaust system fitted
