  • Post-war Italy was in dire need of reliable and cheap transport and the Mandello del Lario factory quickly switched from military vehicles introducing the 'Guzzino' as it became known in 1946
  • Designed by Antonio Micucci, it featured a radical single-tube steel frame, high 26-inch wheels, and, unusually for a humble machine of its era, swinging arm suspension with double compression springs
  • Powered by a 65cc two-stroke, single-cylinder with a cast iron barrel and alloy head generating just 2bhp but, weighing only 50kg, that was enough
  • Over 70,000 units were sold between 1946 and 1954 before it was succeeded by the updated Moto Guzzi 'Cardellino'
  • This beautiful, fully restored, matching numbers example, has been in our vendor's collection for over 20 years and is running well
  • Supplied with a Dating Certificate and a current V5C, correctly classed as Historic
  • A wonderful opportunity to purchase a stylish lightweight in superb restored condition
