1969 Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto 1750

1750 motor-twin Webers, alloy GTA wheels, new leather interior, over $60k in restoration since 2010, absolutely stunning Duetto!

The Alfa Romeo Spider is one of the most recognized sports cars ever to come out of Italy, both timeless in design and rich in heritage. The Pininfarina designed bodywork has stayed fairly true to the original concept and lasted from 1966 all the way through 1994. The Spider outlasted all the competition as the sole survivor of the 2 seat roadster class of automobiles that were so popular in the 60s and 70s. The Alfa Spider Duetto really gained attention in the US with the premier of the movie “The Graduate” in 1967. Many Duettos were sold as a result of the groundbreaking film that featured a risqué plot and a soundtrack from Simon & Garfunkel.
Dustin Hoffman’s character “Benjamin” drove around California in a red Spider which was almost its own character in the movie for as much screen time it had. No other sports roadster can quite match the Alfa for style, passion, and history that it is so loved by its many admirers throughout the world in our opinion!

This 1969 Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto 1750 was built in October of 1969 and sold new on May 1970 in Frankfurt, Germany. The original colors were Red over Black interior. Work completed included rebuilding the engine, installing twin Weber DCOE carburetors, performance camshaft/valve springs, slotted/drilled brake rotors, performance lowering springs and KYB shocks, GTA style alloy wheels, new exhaust, the gearbox was also rebuilt. In 2012 the car was relocated to WA after restoration and purchase by a new owner. New Vredestein tires were fitted in 2017 and much maintenance was performed during his ownership. In 2022 the car had a custom bespoke full leather interior installed by Sunmark Upholstery to the tune of $13,000!

The sound of the twin-cam motor with its snarling exhaust will have you grinning ear to ear when you take it out for a spin. All electricals are in good operating condition and the car is a joy to drive. The 1750cc engine is very sought after for Alfa Romeo enthusiasts, many of whom claim it is the best power unit the company ever produced, due to its rev-happy nature. To duplicate this car today would cost you well over $150,000 in restoration work. Here is a chance to own the one everybody wants, a 69’ 1750 Spider with Webbers, euro-spec lights, lowered suspension, GTA wheels, and beautiful Ferrari-like leather interior.
