The Mk 4 2.0-litre Sports Car appeared in 1985 and this example is one of nine built by our vendor, constructor and race driver, John Suckling, and developed with the help of fellow Taydec associate Andy Hilley. Many of the body panels were from the original moulds used in the production of the 1970 Taydec Mk 2. It's powered by a mid-mounted, full-race, Vauxhall 2.0-litre 'Red Top' producing c210bhp coupled to a Renault transaxle gearbox.
It's been raced by our vendor with multiple class wins proving to be very reliable, easy to maintain and very quick and it can run in a multitude of events including the 750 MC Sports Specials Championship Class, CSCC Series and various circuit's GT Championships. It’s also perfect for Hill Climbs and Sprints and has been a previous multiple winner in the 750 MC Kit Car Championship.
Offered without reserve, it's supplied with its own box trailer and this well maintained MK 4c offers an incredible cost-effective route into a multitude of motorsport events and will be welcome anywhere in Historic circles.
Original Taydec racing cars are considered rare, given that only a handful were made and due to their well-documented history and eligibility for prestigious historic motorsport events, they are valuable to collectors and historic racers alike.
