The Maserati 4200 Spyder perfectly captures the spirit of early-2000s Italian grand touring, pairing elegant Pininfarina styling with a charismatic Ferrari-derived 4.2 litre V8 producing 390bhp. Equipped with the Cambiocorsa F1-style paddle-shift gearbox, the 4200 Spyder delivers an engaging and distinctive driving experience, combining open-top enjoyment with genuine performance and an evocative exhaust note. More refined than its 3200 predecessor and benefitting from a conventional steel throttle body and improved reliability, the 4200 remains one of the marque's most usable modern classics.

This example had been dry stored and unused by its previous owner for over five years prior to our vendor's acquisition. Upon receiving the vehicle, they undertook a comprehensive service and inspection to ensure it was ready for the road once more. Works included an oil and filter change, replacement of both fuel pumps, refurbishment of the wheels, fitment of four new tyres and an air-conditioning recharge. A new gear selection sensor was installed for the F1 gearbox, while all 'sticky' interior panels and switches were removed, refinished and correctly re-decaled, a well-known cosmetic issue on these cars that has now been properly addressed. The hood mechanism was checked and confirmed operational.

The car now drives well and presents as a smart, usable example. It is supplied with two keys, its full Maserati book pack including a stamped service book, the V5 registration document and additional supporting documentation. With recent recommissioning completed and its major known issues attended to, this 4200 Spyder offers an appealing opportunity to acquire a well-sorted example of Maserati's charismatic open-top V8 grand tourer which is ready for the summer.
