When the original Mini was introduced in the late nineteen fifties, few could have predicted how long the model would remain in production. Throughout the nineteen sixties and seventies the design was revised and further developed several times.

One of those developments was the Mini Clubman. This version received a redesigned front end with a longer nose and a different grille. The design was created under the direction of stylist Roy Haynes, who had previously worked at Ford. One of the goals of the redesign was to give the Mini a more modern appearance while also improving access to the engine compartment for maintenance.

The example we offer here has been fully restored and rebuilt in the past. During this process the car was completely disassembled and reconstructed, a restoration often described as a nut and bolt restoration. The work was carried out by a member of staff from a well known Dutch restoration specialist. During the restoration the body was stripped completely to bare metal before the car was carefully rebuilt.

It will come as no surprise that the condition of this Mini is excellent. With beautiful paintwork, straight body panels and correct details the exterior presents in very good condition. The interior is typically Mini in character: simple, clear and functional. In this example the interior looks particularly attractive, featuring well finished upholstery and high quality carpets.

Various photographs of the restoration work are available, providing a clear impression of the work carried out. On our website we have already included a selection of restoration photographs.

The Mini is well known for its compact dimensions and low weight. This makes the car agile and playful in traffic. Combined with front wheel drive and a short wheelbase, the result is a driving experience that remains highly recognizable to enthusiasts of classic Mini models. Thanks to the extensive restoration work this Mini drives exceptionally well.

A Mini Clubman restored to this level is, in our view, rarely offered on the market. Are you interested in this 1973 Austin Mini 1000 Clubman? Please feel free to contact Gallery Aaldering today.
