The 2008 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG represents a compelling fusion of military-grade design and uncompromising AMG performance. Based on the iconic G-Class platform, the G55 AMG is powered by a hand-built 5.4 litre supercharged V8, delivering formidable torque and effortless performance, all channelled through a permanent four-wheel-drive system and triple locking differentials. While the G-Class has always been a rare sight, the G55 AMG was produced in particularly limited numbers, and right hand drive examples are exceptionally scarce, especially in the UK. With its unmistakably upright silhouette, lavish leather interior and thunderous V8 soundtrack, it offered a level of character unmatched by any contemporary SUV. Today, the G55 AMG is increasingly recognised as a modern classic, prized for its rarity, engineering integrity and unapologetic presence. Approximately 150 orders satisfied production for the right hand drive G55 market, with each (when new) commanding a list price of around £100,000, some £25,000 more than the equivalent left hand drive models.

This example of the G55 AMG is presented in Obsidian black with Designo Sand leather trim was first registered 2007 in Singapore. It was imported and sold by DK Engineering in 2018, having been stored by DK for several years on behalf of its owner and at which time it was declared by DK as a one owner from new example with 52,500 miles from new and freshly recommissioned by Mercedes-Benz. Our vendor purchased the car in the summer of 2021 as its third owner in the UK and has enjoyed the sound of that fabulous 5.4 litre V8 ever since.

Offered with a good service history and utilising its ludicrous 493hp and 516 lb-ft of torque across all manors of terrain, this now revered boxy shape, some 50 years old in design, which only the 'G Class' wears sits on 20” AMG five spoke alloy wheels which contribute to the classic aesthetic of the model, and a copy of the data card with all options can be found on our website and in the history file.
