Estimated Price: £7,000 - £9,000

  • Launched at the British Motor Show in 1992, the Chimaera was introduced as a more practical, long-distance alternative to the TVR Griffith. Powered by Rover's 4.0L or 5.0L engine, it became TVR's biggest selling model and sold over 5,000 units up until production ceased in 2003
  • The 4-litre car, as here, offered 240bhp, 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and 152mph with a 5-speed manual gearbox
  • The striking example offered here is finished in Crimson Starmist over a classic TVR interior in cream leather with walnut veneers
  • It was initially registered to main dealer Fernhurst Motor Company (who today remain as the largest independent TVR specialist) and our vendor purchased the vehicle in 1996 and has remained the only keeper since
  • Full Fernhurst service history up until 2012, when the vendor (an experienced mechanic) took over the servicing of the car. It has only ever had Mobil 1 used in oil changes through its entire life and benefits from a recent clutch master and slave cylinder replacement, new fuel lines and cooling pipes along with a full wheel refurbishment
  • We are informed that the all-important chassis is still the original and is reported as being in solid condition
  • Supplied with a good history file including the original Bill of Sale, owner's manual with service history, service receipts, tax discs from 1987 to 2014, more recent service consumables receipts, and lots of old MOTs
