Now here's a true member of boulevard royalty. This 1964 Chevrolet Impala is not only one seriously iconic cruiser, but it's also ready for action just as soon as you bring it home. It's decked out in red paint with a deep shine, and a brief session at the hands of a skilled detailer will take this vintage Chevy's curb appeal to an even higher level. Take a lap around and you'll notice the precise fitment of its body panels, leaving it with clean lines and doors, hood and trunk that open smoothly and shut with a reassuring thud. Its bumpers, both fore and aft, are level as a table and show no concerning blemishes, and its headlights are as clear and as translucent as you could want. This is a very appealing classic.
The red interior presents nicely, showing only the slightest of wear and featuring a split-bench in front and a bench seat in back covered in vinyl and cloth that still retain their deep pigmentation. The chrome trim inside these doors is in good shape and, as you direct your attention up front, you'll see a cleanly painted dash area with clear gauges inside the instrument cluster that are joined by a column-mounted tachometer. An under-dash climate control system has been added as well and although it's not currently operable, the components are in place, so it likely won't take all that much to get it back online. An AM/FM/Cassette stereo stands by at the center of the dash to provide a properly vintage audio experience.
Raise the hood and you'll find the original 327-cubic-inch V8 still holding court in a tidy, well-sorted compartment, surrounded by a solid-looking firewall and inner fenders, with fresh hoses and properly routed wiring in full view. Equipped with both a Holley four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake manifold from the same manufacturer, the engine is in fine form, starting up promptly and pulling with plenty of enthusiasm as it pairs with a 4-speed manual Muncie transmission that puts full control of its output in the hands of the driver via a floor-mounted shifter. Long tube headers leading to a dual exhaust that terminates in a pair of Edelbrock mufflers minimize back-pressure while yielding a fitting sound for a venerable ride like this.
