- In 1933, SS Cars Limited was formed, initially as a subsidiary of the Swallow sidecar-building business before, in 1945, rebranding as Jaguar Cars Ltd
- Their best selling models pre-war were the SS Jaguar Saloons in both 2½-litre and 1½-litre capacities with styling input from Sir William Lyons
- Powered by the 2½-litre overhead-valve six-cylinder developed with input from Harry Weslake, producing around 102bhp, driving through a manual gearbox, and featuring steel coachbuilt bodywork over an ash frame in traditional pre-war fashion
- Finished in Black and retains its original navy blue leather interior, along with what are understood to be its original instruments, tool kit and sunroof
- Understood to have been gradually restored from 1990 onwards, with ongoing maintenance and sympathetic upkeep rather than significant alteration from standard specification
- Supplied new by Henlys of Piccadilly to a Mr Worricker and registered on 15/06/1937, remaining with him for 48 years, thereafter, maintained by the same garage and passing through just five keepers in total. Later enjoyed at Jaguar Drivers Club events before joining a significant private collection
