• Rothwell of Oldham Ltd were an engineering company more famous in the day for producing sewing and knitting machines
• Bicycle manufacturing came in the late 1890s before the company introduced motorcycles in the very early 1900s
• Two motorcycles were produced, a 2hp Minerva-powered version and a 3hp Fafnir-powered version, both made in very small numbers
• Only two examples are known to still exist
• This Minerva-powered bike has been owned by the same family since the 1950s
• Displayed in the family's motorcycle business in Leeds until the early 2000s
• Has been known to run but not started for some time, so will need recommissioning before use
• Presented in an older restoration condition and appears to be mostly original
• Direct belt driven machine that would have been fitted with a 'trembler box' ignition system (included in the sale) now fitted with a 6v battery ignition
• Featured in the Rothwell of Oldham book written by John Warburton with a copy included
• History file containing various reprinted Rothwell pictures, 1950s RF60 buff log book, letters and other associated paperwork
