The year is 1966, the Beatles are singing about their Yellow Submarine, and MG is starting its second year of production of the MG B in the GT version. After the launch of the GT in 1965 at the Earls Court Motor Show, the MG factory in Abingdon, England, produces no fewer than 125,000 GT models. It is an 'overnight' success, as the English call it. MG successfully met the demand for an affordable sports car with more comfort and (practical) space. The beautiful lines were designed by Pininfarina. Even after 50 years, it remains a timeless design, and you want to look at it every second it drives by. This example comes from Sweden, where it has been since 1968. Because they do not use road salt in Sweden in winter and it has been well looked after all this time, it is a rust-free example. It is not an over-restored example, but one that has simply been kept in good condition over the years. It was restored once in the 1980s, which means it is still a beautiful car to show off today. As a nice extra, the MG is equipped with wire wheels, overdrive in 3rd and 4th gear, a stainless steel exhaust, and it has improved/modified rear shock absorbers.
