Estimated Price: £20,000 - £25,000
- Originally a Los Angeles drag racer, this car was converted to its current specification in 1985 by Keith Baker of Classic Cycle Works, UK
- Powered by a 502 cu.in (8.3-litre) Chevrolet V8 crate engine, reputedly producing 502bhp, paired with a TH400 3-speed automatic and competition Hurst shifter
- Chopped and raked roof, traction bars, Halibrand wheels, and de-bumpered front create an authentic 1970s–1980s gasser stance, fully evocative of American hot rodding culture.
- Imported on 05/03/1982, UK-registered and later part of UK-based American Car Imports collection (via Ireland) in 2001. Featured in Classic American magazine, it has been a celebrated presence in British hot rodding circles
- Retains rear seats, reversing camera, and power steering, making it surprisingly user-friendly despite its race-bred origins
- Black Richmond vinyl seats with racing harnesses, period-correct dashboard, Budnik custom billet steering wheel, and multiple instruments reflecting its racing pedigree
- All-steel body (except glass fibre rear wings), bright yellow paint applied in 1985, open-sided bonnet to show off the mighty V8, bespoke rear bumper, and classic Halibrand wheels
- Having formed part of a private collection, the Chevrolet has been driven sparingly and we therefore suggest that recommissioning will be required to bring it fully up to speed
- Not for the shy – this is a hot rod built to turn heads, whether parked outside Hampstead coffee bars or cruising the King’s Road
