- The Ford Capri 2.8 Injection Special, known more colloquially as the ‘Brooklands’ was the final evolution of Ford’s enduring coupé
- Named unofficially after its distinctive Brooklands Green paintwork, the model marked the end of Capri production and brought together several desirable features including a 5-speed gearbox, limited slip differential, seven spoke RS wheels, half leather Recaro interior and colour coded bodywork all fitted as standard
- With final production ending in 1987, just 500 examples of the Capri 280 were planned to be built, however, in the end 1,038 found homes
- Supplied new by Quicks of Chester in August 1987 this example is displaying just 37,125 miles which judging by the condition is believed to be correct
- The history file contains plenty of early invoices and MOTs going back to 2013 showing it has had minimal use over the last decade
- Invoices show a continuous maintenance record from 2000 which includes new parts including front springs, radiator, expansion tank, water pump, viscous fan, wheel bearings and rocker cover gaskets. Protected with a full Paint Protection Film
- A new clutch and brake overall was carried in June 2022. In May 2023, Retroclassic Engineering gave the Capri a full service and fitted a complete sports exhaust, four new tyres, full geometry alignment and power steering rack overhaul. The MOT is valid until November 2026
