- Lotus’ Eclat was introduced in in 1975, largely based on the Elite, the Eclat was fastback bodied and offered a larger boot
- Early Eclats utilised a 1,973cc inline four cylinder (Type 907) producing around 160bhp when new and in this case mated to a five-speed manual gearbox
- The car on offer here dates from 1979 is presented in Championship Gold over a Beige interior
- Acquired by our vendor in 2020, it has been much cherished over the past six years and displayed just 57,897 miles at the time of cataloguing
- We are reliably informed that £11,495 has been spent with ‘Lotus Bits’ in our vendor's ownership to keep the Eclat up to scratch mechanically - invoices on file
- As you may have spotted, this Eclat curiously has Esprit rear lights and its ducktail spoiler fitted and the work has been carried out to a very good standard
- Also included in the history file is a Certificate of Vehicle Provenance, original owners handbook with service records up until April 1983, various brochures and manuals and correspondence re a pre-arranged agreement for a story to be carried out on it by the ‘Absolute Lotus’ magazine
