  • Introduced in 1953 as Triumph’s first post-war sports car, the Triumph TR2 was produced until 1955 and established the TR line as a credible rival to contemporary MG and Austin-Healey models, with early examples now increasingly appreciated by collectors
  • Developed from Standard Vanguard mechanicals but tuned for sporting application, the TR2 featured revised carburation and higher compression, allowing it to deliver competitive performance in period road tests and competition use
  • Powered by a 2,138cc four-cylinder engine driving through a 4-speed manual gearbox, the TR2 offered lively performance for its day, supported by independent front suspension and drum brakes all round
  • This 1955 TR2 was in the ownership of its previous two keepers for some 40 years before joining a private collection
  • Finished in Signal Red with a tan leather interior it presents well and would benefit from light restoration and recommissioning
