Estimated Price: £28,000 - £34,000
- A seminal 2000s lightweight, rear-wheel drive roadster developed and built in conjunction with Lotus
- Not to be confused with a VX220 or VX220 Turbo, the VXR220 is a super-rare – only 65 examples were produced – high-performance and more track-ready roadster which, significantly, was the first-ever model to carry the VXR badge for Vauxhall – so it had to be good!
- As standard, the VXR220 has an increase of 20bhp (up to 217bhp) from the 2.0-litre turbo engine due to a better turbocharger, a remapped ECU and a free-flow air filter, plus 10mm lower suspension with stiffer Bilstein damping, all combining to give a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds and a 154mph top speed
- This is #58 of the 65, with less than 3,000 miles and is in a very special condition and spec, including Ohlins adjustable track suspension and Speedline Corse magnesium (as opposed to aluminium) five-spoke black alloys (fitted from new), a charge cooler system (fitted in place of the normal air intercooler), and a Stage 4 tuning package done by Vauxhall-approved Thorney MotorSport in 2008, including a VXR Astra Turbo, a high performance clutch, a lightened flywheel and engine remap, now producing 275bhp with 320lb/ft of torque
- Always garaged and in a full Carcoon at times, is one of the lowest mileage examples of the limited edition manufacturing run
- Accompanied by a complete paperwork history, including the original sales order from July 2004 through to the most recent Vauxhall service from earlier this year
- Both soft and hardtops come with the car
- There cannot be a lower mileage, more exclusive, better handling, or quicker point-to-point fast road car in this price-point, surely? Very special
