In 2018, Porsche celebrated their 70th anniversary and to commemorate this occasion Porsche GB, with the assistance of their dealers, decided to restore 20 of their famous models.
Managing Director Marcus Eckermann wrote the following:
“Fast. Pure. Emotive. Porsche is synonymous with sports car construction at the very highest level and 2018 marked our 70th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, Porsche Cars Great Britain undertook a special restoration project to restore an exclusive selection of models from different chapters of Porsche history.
As one of only 20 examples, and the only 924 Turbo, the above vehicle was expertly restored by skilled and passionate Porsche technicians. Each car is beautifully finished in Liquid Metal paintwork, normally reserved for the 918 Spyder and features a bespoke interior finish. A full description of the work undertaken is shown below.
Each 70 years of Porsche Special Edition restoration is a unique example of the skill, passion and technology that keeps every Porsche on the road where it belongs for generations to come.
This car has been the subject of an extensive restoration in collaboration with Porsche Centres and Porsche Recommended Repairers. Where possible original parts have been re-conditioned to preserve the originality of the car and where necessary replacement Porsche Classic Genuine Parts have been used to ensure performance and longevity. As well as some standard specification upgrades, this car also features some of the latest Porsche Classic products that preserve the look and feel of your Porsche while providing the latest technology and convenience.
