- The Philip Irving-designed HRD 500cc Comet utilised a single-cylinder OHV engine and was introduced in the mid-1930s
- The Series A Comet was capable of 90mph which, in 1936, was quite a remarkable feat
- Production ceased prior to WW2 making the Series A models rare and sought after by collectors
- This 1939 example is presented in very good overall condition
- Still on its original registration number and fitted with a 1935 Vincent HRD 500cc Meteor engine
- Correct upper frame and rear frame numbers
- Restored by the late Stanley Roberts and complete with a very large history file containing old V5Cs, an RF60 buff log book dated 1964, numerous old receipts, copy instruction book, old VOC magazines, newspaper and magazine cuttings, and some old photographs
- Stored indoors for last few years so will require some recommissioning before use
- Was in running order prior to storage
