We are delighted to offer this 1984 Ford Escort Cabriolet Solar, a seldom-seen early example of Ford’s open-top Mk3 Escort.

The Escort Cabriolet was developed in collaboration with Karmann and introduced in the early 1980s, with production numbers significantly lower than the standard hatchback models. The Solar variant represents one of the earlier and less commonly encountered specifications, making surviving examples increasingly rare today, particularly in honest, largely original condition.

Finished in Red with a cloth interior and equipped with a five-speed gearbox, this example is supplied with an impressive large red history folder containing past MOT certificates and supporting documentation. Notably, it retains its original dealer supplied Hendy Lennox number plates and window stickers, along with the original bill of sale, adding considerable provenance and period charm.

The mileage is recorded as 17,248 miles; however, it is understood the odometer has turned over. The Escort is both MOT and tax exempt, enhancing its usability and appeal as a classic summer car.
