Presented in Tartan red with red interior, this Austin Mini 850 is a mid-60s Mk1 Deluxe version and as such benefits from the requisite Deluxe features including bumper corner bars, upgraded trim, additional instrumentation, full wheel chrome wheel embellishers and piano hinged rear opening windows.

The Mini, known as ‘Tivvy’ to the family, has a wonderful back story in that it was bought by the wife of the first owner as a wedding present in 1965 from a dealer in Liverpool. It was used on a regular basis through to the time of his passing, at which point the Mini passed to his son Andrew. The V5 is therefore showing as only one former keeper, which is remarkable in itself for a 60-year-old car.

The Mini has been in storage for approximately 15 years, and as such will need recommissioning and going through before it hits the road again. It rolls for loading purposes but we have not attempted to start it. There is a handwritten note in the file from the first owner confirming that the Mini was taken off the road in Sept 2010.

Unfortunately, much of the history of the Mini has been lost over time, although the family confirm there is a file full of paperwork that will be forwarded to the new owner should it appear. They also confirm the mileage showing of 58,000 is genuine and that the Mini was serviced at Windsors of Wallasey whilst they were Austin Rover dealers. The customer has produced a useful note about the history of the car and its background which is in the file.

The exterior of the Mini appears in very tidy condition overall, with some minor blistering on the rear quarters. Both the ‘A’ panels appear to have been replaced / repainted at some stage. The chromework is a little tarnished as to be expected. The interior has a wonderful patina and look.

We suggest that given the nature, you come and have a look at the Mini yourself - if only as a reminder of what an original, unspoiled and unrestored 1960s Mini looks like.

Overall a great looking classic Mini in original specification which with some TLC will provide a characterful and cheerful classic for its new owner.
