Here we have a very genuine ex-army Land Rover Defender Wolf LWB finished in what appears to be original paint. According to HPi, the Defender was built in 1994 and went into military service. Road registered in the UK on 2/3/2017, the speedo is in kilometres and it has the 2.5-litre diesel engine. Being ex-military, it has various interesting parts on it which are very useful and add to its authenticity, such as towing equipment, windscreen roll bars exterior, chequer plate panels, spare wheel on bonnet, lightweight rear hard top, rear interior roll cage and folding rear bench seats, amongst a few other things these carry.
It is fitted with a set of matching Goodyear tyres, and with it being in matt green we can assume that it has not been used for desert work, but as with most military vehicles you never get to truly know what it has done in its life. Whilst it has a patina look, it doesn’t appear to be damaged in any way, the paint has marks on it in various places but that is the nature of the beast. Military vehicles are becoming very sought after for shows, but they also make for good work horses if that’s what you want to do. They may have seen some rough use over time, but they are always highly maintained for obvious reasons. The vendor tells us that he has changed the suspension during his ownership.
It is well worth the time to view this Defender if you want a good, but not concourse, example of a military used vehicle. Its looks add to its authenticity and originality.
