The Mercedes-Benz C216 is the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class luxury grand tourer, produced by Mercedes-Benz from 2006 to 2014. Built on the platform of the W221 S-Class saloon, the C216 combined advanced technology with high-end luxury and powerful engines. Early models included the CL500/CL550 and the V12-powered CL600, while high-performance versions such as the CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG were developed by Mercedes-AMG. The car introduced innovative features such as Active Body Control and Night View Assist to enhance safety and comfort. Production ended in 2014 when Mercedes replaced the CL-Class with the Mercedes-Benz C217, effectively integrating the large luxury coupe into the S-Class lineup.
We are pleased to offer this 2007, Mercedes CL500 in Obsidian Black with black leather interior. First registered in October 2007, it has had 4 former keepers. We have a print of the digital service history from Mercedes which confirms 7 services over regular intervals. Its 8th and most recent service was in October 2025 and is recorded in the small bundle of invoices. Together with the online MOT record, the service history supports the impressively low recorded mileage figure.
Big Mercedes coupes always look fantastic in black – imposing and setting off the brightwork. This car has been subtly modified with some side badges and quad exhaust pipes giving it a slightly sportier look than the standard car. There are a few marks here and there but we think a machine polish would take it to the next level. The car was optioned from new with the handsome 19” AMG alloys which, pleasingly, have been kept silver. They present nicely and provide a contrast to the dark paint. The interior is the real strong point of this car. Finished in swathes of black leather with burr walnut veneer, the cabin is everything you would expect from Merc’s top-of-the-range model. As you would imagine with such low miles, it is in lovely condition with no obvious damage. With a 2007 list price before options of £74,000 (£112,000 in today’s money), it’s no surprise that the specification for this big coupe was impressive. Highlights include heated memory seats, rear camera, Comand with navigation, climate control, Premium sound package, soft close doors and power boot.
The car comes with V5C, MOT, spec list, service history print, bundle of invoices, some old registration documents and handbooks.
For a long time, Mercedes’ big coupe was its flag ship model – the most luxurious, the best equipped and the most expensive – but depreciation for the initial owners was brutal. As a result, these cars offer exceptional value for money. In fact it’s hard to think of any other coupe that offers such style and opulence for such little outlay. With a very sensible reserve, this example presents an opportunity to look like you won the Lottery but without breaking the bank.
