Let us start with our vendor’s credentials; he has run the family’s automotive engineering business for the last 25 years. With a research, development and engineering facility, the company has worked continuously on a programme of product development resulting in a comprehensive range of products and services available to the automotive and associated trades. Heavy investment in advanced technology has kept the company at the forefront of the aftermarket replacement industry and all products are manufactured from the highest quality components and subject to rigorous quality control.

Safe to say that he is more than qualified and has adequate facilities to maintain and restore his own vehicles.

Now the example in question was registered in London in November 1990, and remained in its first owner’s care for just under two years before our vendor purchased the Cosworth in August 1992. So here we are, fresh to market, some 34 years later.

Although always maintained, serviced and looked after, the decision was made in 2019 to embark on a full restoration - engine out, back to metal body preparation, no half measures. The engine was stripped down and whilst in good shape was rebuilt along with the suspension, brakes and all other components including the turbo. Once it had received its high quality respray and the engine was refitted, all the under bonnet stickers were renewed to emulate the factory finish. It’s worth pointing out that there are no garish hoses or polished dump valves in this engine bay. If you look through the refurbished alloy wheels, you can make out the brake calipers looking as if they are brand new, as are the brake discs. The external window weather seals are a notorious weak point on older Fords, a very rare set were sourced in Belgium, possibly the last set available. The attention to detail is quite superb; replated door hinges, new courtesy light switches, standard Ford radio cassette, it’s all as it should be including its Recaro interior.

This very excellent Sierra Cosworth is worthy of closer inspection, and we doubt that you will be disappointed.
