We are pleased to present this highly desirable 2003 Ford Focus RS, the legendary first-generation RS model produced by Ford Motor Company and widely regarded as one of the most exciting front wheel drive performance cars of its era.

The Mk1 Focus RS was produced in limited numbers, with just 4,501 examples built worldwide, of which 2,147 were supplied to the UK market. This example is number 1443, confirmed by the numbered plaque within the cabin.

Finished in Imperial Blue Metallic (Code Q2), the only colour offered on the model, it features the distinctive wide arch bodywork, aggressive stance and WRC-inspired styling that have made these modern performance icons. The paintwork presents very well following an extensive restoration and repaint completed in 2016, while the underside was professionally restored in 2018 by Demon Performance Centre at a cost of £3,445. Since that work was completed, the RS has travelled only around 5,200 miles, used exclusively in dry conditions by a careful enthusiast owner. There are a couple of minor rust bubbles.

Performance has been significantly enhanced, with the original 2.0-litre turbocharged Duratec engine upgraded to produce approximately 320bhp and 364 lb-ft of torque. Key upgrades include a Garrett T25 GT turbocharger, Forge wastegate actuator with 18psi spring, Dastek Unichip ECU mapping, front mounted intercooler, GGR airbox, ceramic-coated Primary Design tubular manifold and Milltek cat back exhaust system. Additional supporting modifications include an MSD coil pack with leads, Champion RE9 spark plugs, Roose boost hoses and Samco coolant hoses.

Handling and drivetrain upgrades are equally impressive. The Focus retains the renowned Quaife automatic torque-biasing limited slip differential, complemented by KW Variant 3 coil over suspension, an AP organic clutch, Vibratechnics gearbox mounts and polybushed components throughout. Braking is upgraded via Brembo four-pot callipers, AP two-piece front discs and stainless-steel brake hoses. It sits on 18-inch OZ Racing alloy wheels finished in anthracite, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.

Further visual upgrades include carbon fibre front bumper vents and spotlight surrounds, subtly enhancing the already aggressive RS appearance.

Inside, the cabin is equally impressive, featuring the iconic Sparco blue and black leather and Alcantara seats with matching rear seats, a re-trimmed steering wheel, carbon fibre centre console and the original RS numbered plaque. Additional upgrades include a boost gauge replacing the original clock and a Scan Gauge mounted above the rear-view mirror, providing useful engine data and performance monitoring.

The history file is extensive and includes two stamped service books, the original handbook pack and both sets of keys. The RS has recently received a full service, with the previous service recorded at 96,734 miles, meaning it has covered very little mileage in recent years.

A well-sorted and highly upgraded example of this increasingly collectible modern performance icon, offering serious performance combined with strong provenance and careful enthusiast ownership.
