- The 2004 Ducati Monster S4R was the high-performance flagship of the Monster line during its release. It significantly upgraded the "naked bike" formula by transplanting the liquid-cooled, 4-valve-per-cylinder engine from the 996 Superbike into the signature steel trellis frame
