The name CL stands for the German 'Coupe Leicht' or Coupe Light. The CL-Class is based on the S-Class full-size luxury car known at first as the SEC and later S coupe. It was spun off into its own, current name in 1996. The CL continued to follow the same development cycle as the S, although riding on a shorter wheelbase and sharing the same engines albeit with less choice as only the higher-output power trains were offered. CL coupes come equipped with the very latest in Mercedes-Benz technology and, along with the S-Class saloons, the CL coupes received all new technological features

This example was first registered and supplied new by Mercedes-Benz Japan to its first Doctor owner in 2003, when the purchase price was a staggering £66,000! It was then sold to its second owner in 2013 and was imported to the UK in 2015. It was then stored in Hampshire for many years before being sold to its present owner in July 2022 ( all documented in the history file) The car is presented in silver with black leather interior and has the benefit of an electric sunroof. Whilst the audio system works, there are only a limited selection of UK stations available and the rest are Japanese ( the Sat nav is also not operation owing to it being Japanese ) The interior is in good condition throughout as is the exterior with a small scuff to the rear offside visible ( shopping trolley we are informed! ) This CL500 comes with a very good service history and has been well looked after by the present owner and it drives as it should with no known faults.
