- Huge specification
- Very early produced example
- Great history
- Stunning appearance
Here we have a very rare and desirable Mercedes CLK with the masterful 6-cylinder engine and automatic gearbox. Finished in brilliant silver with grey leather - a bright and fabulous colour combination - this is a very rare example, as it is a very early build date (January 1998) and was registered to its first owner on 27/3/2008. The interesting thing about this one, as well as being the Sport model, which is very rare in itself, is the specification. It has possibly everything it could ever have at the time of build; metallic paint, grey leather, electric glass sunroof, white dials, under shields, sports chassis tuning, folding mirrors, automatic climate control, high capacity battery, AMG Styling Package (front spoiler side skirts and rear apron), AMG complete wheels 7.5 front and 8.5 x17”, and carbon fibre effect trim. This is all on top of the high standard specification that these cars enjoyed. The appearance is sublime, it looks fantastic in every way - in fact, we can’t remember seeing an example that looks like this unless it was a CLK 55 AMG.
The paperwork is equally as impressive, with a full book pack including owner’s manuals and instruction books along with two service books containing 20 stamps between them - all in the original Mercedes folder. This is complimented by three spare keys including the flat security key (a rare thing to find), a collection of invoices and receipts, a host of older MOTs which sit nicely with the fresh one just carried out, and a letter from Mercedes to the first owner confirming the build dates and specification. It also has a clear HPi and comes with a V5. The vendor is only selling it due to a house move and having too many cars so is thinning down his collection. They also advise that it is not being used as it should anymore, and due to this the ABS / BAS light comes on from time to time but does not appear to have any effect during use. They have been advised it is due to a sensor and possibly brought on by lack of use. Other than that, it drives and performs as it should for a Mercedes from 1998. The vendor believes the mileage to be correct, and the paperwork would back this up, as well as the great appearance. It sits on a matching set of Yokohama tyres, which combined with the sports chassis make this a great example to drive.
If you want a great looking Mercedes that turns heads and is pretty much a 'one-off' factory built example that has not been messed about with, then this is the one for you. It would make a great daily driver or would sit well in any Mercedes collection.
