Driven 15 miles to our auction centre. Two local owners from new.
Vendor declares:
The 1098 engine was fully stripped and rebuilt a few years ago with the cylinder head having been gas flowed and hardened valve seats for modern unleaded petrol, the gas flowing improving performance for motorway driving.
The underside of the car is in beautiful condition having been finished in a lighter shade of blue so that all areas are clearly visible, and all suspension and chassis are finished in gloss black, making the underside very presentable.
The vehicle has had a new clutch fitted, new king pins, polyurethane suspension bushing for better suspension, handling and rear suspension leaf springs in recent years.
The woodwork was totally replaced, retaining just the original rear doors. The car has a recent new exhaust, new battery and new interior fitted carpeting, new tyres all round, brand new brake drums, brake shoes and recent brake master cylinder. Original trim and fittings have tried to be retained as much as possible to try to preserve as much originality as possible.
The car has been laid up since 2019 and kept in a heated garage over the winter months and has recently been presented for an MOT test which it passed without any advisories.
There is a large file showing a very full-service history, previous MOTs and tax discs.
This is a good smart usable vehicle which returns 45-50 mpg at 55 mph, tax exempt, MOT exempt should you wish to, and is ready for use without requiring any work.
The current owner is a long-standing member of the Morris 1000 Owners Club and the car was exhibited at the 60th anniversary of the birth of the Morris 1000 at Charlbury, Oxfordshire.
